Obsessions
Amusement Parks & Roller Coasters - Although a majority of people enjoy amusement parks and roller coasters, there are not many that are into them as much as me. Since 2003, I have literally been obsessed with them. Whether it is riding them, learning about them, or even just watching them, I am fascinated by roller coasters in general. The Surreal Life - The Surreal Life is a reality TV show that airs on VH1, and places several celebrities in a mansion in the Hollywood Hills for two weeks. Although the first time I watched it was accidental, I continued watching, and loved it. Since then, I have watched almost every episode, and have the fifth season on DVD. A-Teens - The A-Teens were a Swedish Pop Band that formed in 1998 and disbanded in 2004. Within their six year career, they recorded five albums, thirteen singles, and sold over 9,000,000 albums. I first heard the A-Teens when I was coming back from a friend's party in 4th grade. He had their first CD, and we listened to every song on the way home. From then on, they became my favorite band. As of now, I own all three of their albums released in the United States, and continue to listen to all their songs today. Dhani Lennevald & Marie Serneholt - Both of these artists were in the A-Teens, but have since started solo careers. While Dhani has only released a single (with the album on the way), Marie has released an entire album, along with three singles. They both have great voices, and I really enjoy listening to their music. Christina Aguilera & Shania Twain - Although I've heard of both of these artists before, I really began liking their music last year. Although both of their styles vary with each of their records, I have a favorite set of songs for both of them. Christina's sophomore album, Stripped, featured more creative and influenced songs, while Shania's 3rd and 4th albums featured more pop-influenced country music. Liano - Although we've never met her in person, my friend Ally and I have been obsessed with Liano since we saw her in a video last year. We were watching a video on ThemeParkReview featuring a 4-Dimensional roller coaster named Eejanaika at Fuji-Q Highlands in Japan, and at the end of the video, there was a very eccentric woman walking around in a neon dress. Since we didn't know her name, or anything about her, we just called her Liano, and acronym for "Lady in a Neon Outfit." Oloet - Similar to Liano, Oloet, which stands for "Old Lady on El Toro," is a person we named after seeing her at Six Flags. Ally and I were about to ride our favorite ride, El Toro, and the person sitting behind us was a very old woman, a person you would not usually see on a roller coaster. Since she was another person who would be hard to forget, we gave her a name too. Kathy Griffin - Kathy Griffin is a stand-up comedian. Although I had heard her name before, the first time I saw her was on The Surreal Life (Season 4), where she had a cameo as a taxi driver who drove the cast mates to the mansion. She was very humorous and energetic, and I instantly thought she was great. When I saw several of her comedy specials last year, I thought she was even better, and bought her DVD, Allegedly. |
